FOR HER

The misson of Holmen Women's Wrestling is For Her

Everything we do is for each other, for women’s wrestling, and for women’s sports everywhere. On the mat, we fight for our teammates. Off the mat, we grow the sport for the next generation of girls.

Our purpose is bigger than ourselves. Our mission is greater than any one person. We lift each other up, make everyone feel included, and remind each other that we belong.

We buy in. We give everything for our teammates. We are strongest when we invest in our team and our shared goals.

Every single day—we show up, we fight, and we do what is best - For Her.

Our Pillars, or foundations of our program, all relate to For Her.

As part of For Her, we will always answer questions, provide resources, and help out anyone who asks about growing and improving their team.

About

ABOUT

We have one of the best and largest women’s school programs in the state of Wisconsin and are leaders in growing women’s wrestling.

We were the first district in the state with dedicated paid women's coaches at the high school level.

We compete in competitions only against other women’s teams and have a lot of fun!

NEW WRESTLER FAQ

Why should I join wrestling?

- Mostly because it's fun! The number one reason our wrestlers continue to wrestle is because they have fun. We go sledding, have a team dinners, dress up for Christmas, have our own photo shoot, play games in practice, travel to overnight meets, and more.

- You can also find your strength by working through challenges, create new friendships, develop confidence, and increase athleticism for other sports.

Do I have to wrestle boys?

Never. Girls get to wrestle only girls in practices and competitions.

- This is the same for our youth and middle school levels. Girls never have to wrestle boys.

- Did you know that Women’s Wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the country?!

Would I have to lose weight?

- No, there are no requirements to lose weight to be at a certain weight class.

- You pick what what weight class you would like to be.

Would I have to wear a singlet?

- No. A singlet is not required. Other uniforms are available.

Is high school too late to join wrestling?

- Definitely not! Almost all of our high school wrestlers did not join until high school, including two of our last three state placewinners.

If I have questions or want to wrestle what should I do?
